CoolSculpting is all the rage these days, and it’s certainly one of the most effective fat-loss procedures that we regularly perform.
Our office has been receiving a huge volume of questions on the procedure lately, so we wanted to take the time to give some helpful answers.

Here are the four most common questions that we receive on CoolSculpting in Phoenix and Scottsdale from our Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. Meger.:

1: How Does CoolSculpting Work?

Coolsculpting uses the principle ofcryolipolysisto eliminate fat cells in specific parts of the body. The procedure uses very cold temperatures to literally freeze your fat cells. As your cells are being frozen, they empty their components into the body and are eliminated by the major detoxification pathways. This not only causes those fat cells to shrink, but the cells are ultimately eliminated by the body’s detoxification pathways.
Even though this might sound scary, the procedure is completely safe. In fact, it’s one of the most popular fat-loss procedures in the country. Coolsculpting is non-invasive, and you don’t have to deal with any of the complications involved in liposuction or bariatric surgery.

2: Who Is A Good Fit For CoolSculpting?

Before we tell you if CoolSculpting might be a good fit for you, let’s take a minute to review who’snota good fit for CoolSculpting.
This is not a cure for obesity, and the procedure is not for those who are looking to lose significant amounts of weight. CoolSculpting is best for people that have a bit of stubborn fat around the midsection, the thighs, or the buttocks. Usually, patients come to us for CoolSculpting because this fat isn’t responding to exercise or diet interventions.

3: Does CoolSculpting Hurt? Is This Procedure Painful?

We do not usually have patients report any pain during the procedure. In fact, many of our patients are able to relax and watch videos on their phone, check their email, and go about other parts of their day during their session.

The most common sensation during a CoolSculpting session is a brief feeling of intense cold in the specific spot being targeted. These feelings typically go away after the first few minutes of application.

4: How Quickly Does It Work?

You should expect to see results within the first month of starting your sessions. The results are generally cumulative, but your body will be eliminating fat cells for several weeks after a single session.
