About Morpheus8
Morpheus8 is an FDA-approved cosmetic solution that uses radiofrequency technology to help achieve a more youthful appearance in various areas of the body. It is a non-invasive treatment that targets the subdermal tissue to reduce the appearance of sagging skin, and is an effective alternative to lasers or other surgical procedures.
Morpheus8 Candidacy
The primary candidates for Morpheus8 treatment with Dr. Meger are individuals who are between the ages of 30 and 60 that have visible signs of aging skin and desire an effective solution.
Additionally, Morpheus8 can be used to treat individuals with severe acne or acne scars. Many patients that have tried topical or oral medications for acne and have not seen success are able to find significant improvement with Morpheus8 treatment.
Morpheus8 Target Areas
Morpheus 8 treatments are utilized for both the face and the body.
For the face, the most common areas are:
- neck
- nasolabial lines
- frown lines
- cheeks
- bags under the eyes
For the body, the most common areas are:
- knees
- stomach
- arms
Issues in these areas, or other potential treatment areas, will be discussed in detail during a consultation with Dr. Meger to see if Morpheus8 is the right solution.
Morpheus8 Process
A Morpheus8 procedure utilizes handpieces with fractional tips. These fractional tips come complete with microneedle configurations, which can vary depending on the size of the treatment area and whether or not the treatment area is on the body or the face.
Before the procedure, an expert will apply a topical numbing cream to the treatment area. There is no need for any type of anaesthesia or sedation. Once the numbing cream is applied, the Morpheus8 handheld device will be used to administer radiofrequency (RF) energy to multiple subdermal depths of the treatment area.
The RF energy delivery process to multiple depths of the subdermal layers is quick and painless, with each delivery taking only a few milliseconds. Your expert will move along the treatment area, repeating this process until the entirety of the area has been covered. Most procedures last around an hour and a half on average.
Morpheus8 Results and Recovery
There are both immediate and gradual results upon completion of Morpheus8 treatment. Immediately following the procedure, patients will find a noticeable improvement to the treatment area.
As time passes improvement will continue, with collagen in the skin continuing to tighten the treatment area. Most patients should expect final results around 6 weeks from the procedure date. The treatment area should be tighter and more youthful in appearance, with a potential additional benefit to skin complexion.
After 6 weeks an expert will follow up with an appointment and determine if any additional treatments are necessary. This could be the case depending on a patient’s goals or the nature of the treatment area itself.
